Teamwork brings back the Worms

A WEST Yorkshire design firm has launched a new PC version of its popular Worms computer game.

Team17, based in Ossett, said its release of Worms Reloaded this week is eagerly awaited among gamers. A page on social networking website Facebook dedicated to the new game has more than half a million followers.

The new version includes more than 60 single-player missions, full team and game style customisation, landscape editing tools including the ability to import images and high-definition visuals.

The game was first launched by Team17 in 1995, and players compete to destroy opposing teams of animated worms.

Martyn Brown, business development director at Team17, said: "It's with tremendous satisfaction that we can finally release a PC Worms title after what seems like an eternity, particularly as we're self-publishing it."

Founded in 1990, Team17 develops and publishes interactive software for digital game systems, personal computers, wireless devices and the internet.
