She has a BA in medieval history from Kings College London and was educated at Northleach Grammar School in Cheltenham.

She also has a post-graduate degree in business psychology from the London School of Economics.

Ms Green won the Woman in Business award in 1993 and again in 2007 and was recognised by the Stevie ‘Women in Business’ Awards as the best executive in Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EMEA).

In 2010, she received an OBE for services to industry.
