Time to outline funding options

YORKSHIRE businesses will be able to learn more about their funding options, thanks to an event being run by the London Stock Exchange (LSE) at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Rotherham.

The event – An overview of the company funding ladder from an equity perspective – will take place on Thursday December 1, from 8.30am to 2pm at the AMP Technology Centre.

Speakers will include local business angels and venture capitalists.

Barry Cunliffe, the chief financial officer of Sheffield-based ITM Power, will describe the strengths and weaknesses of the various forms of finance on offer.

Practical advice for small businesses will also be offered through panel discussions, which are supported by Barber Harrison & Platt , Hill Dickinson and Grant Thornton.

Directors will be able to find out what a flotation could do for their business and hear what angel and venture capital investors look for.

A spokesman said: “The seminar will be useful for stakeholders, chief executives, managing directors and finance directors of fast growing, entrepreneurial companies who are looking for a cash injection and companies with private equity investment looking for an exit strategy.”
