Time running out to enter Yorkshire Property Awards

Entries are now officially open for this year's Yorkshire Property Awards.

The awards, which this year mark their 20th anniversary, celebrate the best commercial property deals and businesses in the region, as well as helping to raise money for children’s charity Variety.

The awards, regarded as the premier property awards in the region, have honoured some of Yorkshire’s most iconic buildings over the years, as well as the people who helped create them.

Last year, 1,000 people from across the sector attended the event, and tickets for this year’s event have already sold out.

The Yorkshire Post is to be the official media partner of the event which takes place at Harrogate’s Rudding Park on Thursday, May 4.

Entries are invited in the following categories: Best Architect of the Year, Best Small Agency Practice (20 or less partners), Best Large Agency Practice (21 or more partners), Property Deal of the Year, Best Innovation Project and the Game Changer Awards.

The latter awards look at the projects and deals which have a material effect on the surrounding environment and market.

The awards benefit Variety, The Children’s Charity with last year’s event having generated some £175,000 towards the work it does to provide to provide Sunshine coaches and mobility equipment for disabled youngsters.

Duncan Sayers, chairman of Variety, The Children’s Charity in Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Yorkshire Property Awards this year.

“As we reach such a significant milestone we hope to host the best event yet with The Yorkshire Post as media partner and a new legacy initiative for Autism Angels where the Yorkshire property industry can really get involved.

“We are an events led charity in Yorkshire recognised for running some of the most high profile events in the region.

“However, we also retain the values of a small, accessible charity, and all funds that we raise in Yorkshire remain in Yorkshire to help the children that need it most.”

Mark Casci, business editor of The Yorkshire Post, said: “It is a great honour for The Yorkshire Post to be a part of a such a prestigious event.

“Our region is home to so many top class architects and designers and therefore it is little wonder we have seen such a fantastic array of new developments across Yorkshire these past few years.

“These awards are a real chance to shine and I would recommend everyone in the sector apply. And, of course, the event allows us all to support Variety, a superb charity that touches the lives of so many families.”
