Umeco Q1 sales up as order intake recovers

AEROSPACE parts supplier Umeco posted a 3.9 per cent rise in first-quarter revenue and said it continued to see a recovery in order intake.

The company, which makes composite materials for Formula One racing cars, said its order book at June 30 stood at 240.5m, compared with 219.9m last year.

The company has its process materials Aerovac factory at Keighley.

Umeco, whose first-half trading performance remained consistent with the year-ago period, said it continued to trade in line with its expectations for the year ending March 31, 2011.

Net debt at end-June stood at 105.3m, down 19 per cent from 130.2m last year.
