Uncertainty saw £1.09bn wiped from the value of region’s firms

the top five companies in the YP75 constitute 68 per cent of the total market capitalisation of the region’s index of listed Yorkshire companies.

Those companies, in descending order, are Morrisons, Croda, Drax, Persimmon and Provident Financial.

Morrisons is by far the largest, with a market cap of nearly £8bn, while Provident Financial, the doorstep lender, weighs in at nearly £1.3bn.
