Urgent plea for cleaning and porting staff to start work at Leeds hospitals

An urgent plea has been issued for cleaning and porting staff who can start work at Leeds hospitals.

The Civic Enterprise Leeds Cleaning team said the hospitals are experiencing staff shortages in those two areas.

The team said: "Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust are working on business continuity plans to ensure they can keep Leeds Hospitals running safely, they are currently experiencing staff shortages in certain areas such as cleaning and portering.

"If anyone would be willing to help out and work any additional hours at LTHT hospital sites please ring our office 01133782337 with your name and contact number.

"You are not committing to any work, someone would then contact you to discuss options, the city would really appreciate your support with this in such difficult times."

There are also currently 25,000 new jobs on offer at Aldi, Lidl, Co-op, Asda and Morrisons due to the coronavirus shopping surge.
