US firm snaps up Sheffield’s William Beckett Plastics
Beckett, based at Tinsley Industrial Estate in Sheffield, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialised plastic packaging for the world’s cutting tool industry.
It was bought by MOCAP Limited, the UK subsidiary of Missouri-based MOCAP LLC.

Hide AdBosses say production from the Sheffield site will remain in place, with investment planned to expand the product line through modernised tooling and equipment.
They will be sold throughout the world through MOCAP’s existing North American, European and Asian offices.
William Beckett Plastics is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialised plastic packaging for the cutting tool industry. The company was established 40 years ago and has markets in 40 countries.
It has twice won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade, in 2009 and 2012.

Hide AdThe move by MOCAP, a manufacturer of quality plastic and rubber products, allows for expansion in their current packaging division, known as Cleartec Packaging, which manufactures transparent semi-rigid plastic packaging tubes and containers.
Greg Miller, co-owner and vice-president of sales and marketing, said: “With the acquisition of William Beckett Plastics Ltd, MOCAP is able to offer the most extensive line of plastic packaging containers to our current customer base as well as introducing MOCAP’s line of protective closures and clear tube packaging to William Beckett Plastics Ltd customers. This alliance enables MOCAP to broaden our scope and provide our customers with a product line that is unrivalled in this industry.”
MOCAP’s current customer base will now have access to the complete line of William Beckett Plastic Packaging’s solutions including round, square and rectangular telescopic containers, as well as boxes, inserts, multi-packs and cases.
DLA Piper advised William Beckett Plastics on the acquisition. The Sheffield-based DLA Piper team comprised legal director Anna Lewis and associate Chloe Roberts.
