Vehicle tracking chief leaves Masternaut after merger with rival

the award-winning entrepreneur who built Masternaut UK into a market leader in the vehicle tracking sector has left the company.

Martin Port departs following the merger of Masternaut with smaller rival Cybit. The new company, Masternaut Group, is owned by Cybit’s parent, Francisco Partners, the US private equity firm.

Mr Port founded the UK business in 2002 with hardware support and a licensed brand from Masternaut International based in France.

He developed innovative software that drove rapid growth of the UK business, which grew from two employees to 150, employed from Leeds and Skipton in Yorkshire.

Bill Henry, Masternaut Group chief executive, said in a statement: “On behalf of the team at the new Masternaut, I would like to sincerely thank Martin for what he has done to raise the profile of telematics and the benefits across industry.”
