Venture’s call to be part of the business bootcamp

For Entrepreneurs Only (FEO), a group of Hull and East Yorkshire business men and women who provide free advice to those behind start-ups and young businesses, is about to launch its 2013/2014 bootcamp. This will be the third bootcamp that the group has run since 2012.

The FEO Bootcamp is free of charge and will be officially launched at an event hosted by FEO member David Hall on September 18, at the University of Hull’s Enterprise Centre, from 5.45pm to 7.45pm.

The event will include a talk from Mr Hall about ‘the psychology and code of an entrepreneur’ and will also detail what the bootcamp involves, giving entrepreneurs an opportunity to network and discuss their businesses with their peers.

From the attendees on the evening, 25 entrepreneurs will be selected to take part in the bootcamp, which takes place across five early evening sessions from September 25 to January 8, 2014.

Those entrepreneurs not invited to take part in the bootcamp will be given support from FEO members to get them ready for the next bootcamp, or will be mentored if their business is already established.

Melinda O’Reilly, assistant manager of FEO, said: “We are thrilled with the success of our previous two bootcamps and can’t wait to get things started in September. This bootcamp is already in high demand and it’s fantastic to see the local business community spreading the word about the opportunities we are offering.

“This year, the format has changed slightly, we are inviting everyone who might be interested in the bootcamp to attend a launch event to find out if it’s right for them. If it isn’t, we will still be on hand to offer the help and guidance they need to make their business idea a reality.”
