WANdisco celebrates renewed software deal with US Fortune 100 company

SOFTWARE firm WANdisco said a US Fortune 100 heavy equipment manufacturer has renewed its subscription license until the end of 2017.

Sheffield-based WANdisco said the deal will contribute £1.2m to revenues over the next four years.

WANdisco said that over the past two years, the unnamed customer has realised significant benefits from its use of WANdisco’s SVN MultiSite solution.

It said the software has enabled the firm to run its operations 24 hours a day, seven says a week, with no downtime even during routine maintenance.

It added that the software has made a significant and positive impact on the customer’s productivity and bottom line.

Under the terms of the agreement, the manufacturer has also agreed to use additional WANdisco ALM products and services, including SVN Access Control and the recently announced Git MultiSite solution. Over 4,000 of the manufacturer’s software developers will use these solutions across its locations in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

David Richards, chairman and CEO of WANdisco, said: “This is a resounding endorsement of our technology, of our offering and of our strategy.

“This agreement represents a significant, long-term customer commitment to WANdisco, made by one of the largest and most successful firms on earth.

“Most people don’t think about software development when they think about heavy equipment manufacturing, but the fact is that software is now a pervasive element of the global econ- omy.”

Analyst George O’Connor, at Panmure, said: “This is a great win ahead of interim results on Thursday as an unnamed US Fortune 100 heavy equipment manufacturer renews its SVN MultiSite solution for five years and buys extra product.

“The deal is worth US$1.87m revenue to be recognised in equal tranches over the term.

“The deal illustrates product strength, good account management (ie, the upsell) and that WANdisco sales is supporting the entire product portfolio – it is not a Hadoop-only shop.”
