Waste firm sheds shredding division

RECYCLING and waste management equipment supplier Riverside Waste Machinery has sold its waste shredding division to an Austrian manufacturer.

The company, which is based in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, sold the division to UNTHA in a move which means Riverside’s headquarters will now be home to the new brand UNTHA UK.

It aims to combine UNTHA’s technological development capability with Riverside’s knowledge of the UK marketplace and shredding application expertise.

It has set aside £500,000 for sales and marketing development next year.

Riverside’s founder and managing director Chris Oldfield will take the role of UNTHA UK managing director, together with Peter Streinik, UNTHA’s head of sales.

The Riverside Waste Machinery brand will continue to be led by Jonathan Oldfield, but will focus solely upon waste balers.

Four new recruits are expected to join the existing UK team in the first six months and colleagues from Austria will also spend three months in the UK.
