ROCK band The Pigeon Detectives turned to a Yorkshire agency for the artwork for its new album as it signalled a change in direction

Leeds-based The Consult created the ranks of minimalist marching soldiers seen on the artwork, video and merchandise for Up guards and at ’em, the third album by the Rothwell band.

The Pigeon Detectives, who were formed in 2002 were championed by top BBC radio DJs Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley, played a gig at Leeds Metropolitan University on Tuesday night.

Alex Atkinson, creative director at The Consult, said: “We were delighted to work with the Pigeon Detectives; a popular band with their roots firmly placed in Leeds.”

The firms works with a variety of brands across the commercial, public and not-for-profit spheres.

Its previous projects include working with The Church of England, fashion brand Converse and Anglia Ruskin University.
