The online gaming package created by The Weather Lottery under the brand FCBetz.com will be marketed to the club's fans. FCBetz.com was launched on August 6 to expand the services offered to The Weather Lottery's existing clients. The contract win marks The Weather Lottery's sixth consecutive football club partnership agreement in as many weeks. Agreements have already been signed with Coventry City, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City and Middlesbrough.

Commenting on the announcement, Lord Razzall, the chairman, said: "We are very excited by this contract with Rangers. They hold an important position as a revered sporting institution both nationally and internationally.

"They are one of the giants of Scottish football and their importance extends well beyond Scotland. They are regular participants in the blue-ribbon event of European Football, the Champions League."

Keith Millhench, the company's chief executive, said the FCBetz.com and fclotto.co.uk products provided The Weather Lottery with access to a significant potential user base.

He added: "The board believes that this further expansion will create additional revenues for the company.

"Negotiations are continuing with several other major football clubs and other societies.

"The board expects to make further announcements shortly in accordance with the AIM (Alternative Investment Market) rules."

The Weather Lottery, which raises funds for non-profit organisations such as sports clubs, charities, schools and universities, began its search for new clients earlier this year. The group believes this expansion will generate extra revenues.
