Weather Lottery seals contract with Rangers

FUNDRAISING company The Weather Lottery has signed a contract with Scottish Premier League champions Rangers to supply online betting and online lottery services.

In a statement, the Doncaster-based company said it expected to announce further football club partnerships soon.

The Rangers Online Lottery will be run by The Weather Lottery under its newly launched 'www.fclotto.co.uk' brand, which has been designed for the football market.

The online gaming package created by The Weather Lottery under the brand 'www.FCBetz.com' will be marketed to the Club's fans. www.FCBetz.com was launched on August 6 to expand the services offered to The Weather Lottery's existing clients.

The contract win marks The Weather Lottery's sixth consecutive football club partnership agreement in as many weeks, following the signings of Coventry City, Derby County, Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester City and Middlesbrough.

Commenting on the announcement, Lord Razzall, the chairman, said: "We are very excited by this contract with Rangers. They hold an important position as a revered sporting institution both nationally and internationally.

"They are one of the two giants of Scottish football and their importance extends well beyond Scotland. They are regular participants in the "blue-ribbon" event of European Football, the Champions League."

Keith Millhench, the company's chief executive said: "The combined www.FCBetz.com and www.fclotto.co.uk products market partners' fan clubs, season ticket holders of Coventry City, Derby County, Leicester City, Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and now Rangers, plus their databases and gives The Weather Lottery exposure to a significant potential user base.

"The board believes that this further expansion will create additional revenues for the company. Negotiations are continuing with several other major football clubs and other societies. The board expects to make further announcements shortly in accordance with the AIM Rules."
