Weather Lottery signs big deal

FUNDRAISING company The Weather Lottery has sealed a significant contract as part of a strategy to increase its market share.

The Doncaster-based company, which raises funds for non-profit organisations such as sports clubs, charities, schools and universities, began its search for new clients earlier this year. The group believes that this expansion will create additional revenues.

The board of The Weather Lottery yesterday announced that it had signed a partnership agreement with BD Sport, a major stadium betting provider in the UK.

BD Sport will provide a full service in-stadium betting programme fronted by the FCBetz brand.

The contract will start from the beginning of the new football season, with BD Sport supporting The Weather Lottery's football club partnerships.

BD Sport has similar contracts in place with many of the leading UK Football Clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton.

Lord Razzall, The Weather Lottery's chairman, said: "This is a significant enhancement to our marketing strategy and we are delighted to be aligned with BD Sport as we continue our programme of growth and penetration into this market place."
