Commissioned by Creative Sheffield, the directory, which can be found at www.thecdidirectory.com, will help businesses connect with each other and showcase their services to potential new clients.

The creative and digital industries sector, which ranges from advertising and computer game development to performing arts and video production, employs more than 20,000 people in the city region, has a total turnover of more than £2bn and a gross value added of £1.07bn.

James Wilson, creative and digital sector growth manager for Creative Sheffield, said: “Sheffield is one of the leading cities for the sector in the UK. We have some amazing companies based here, including some with a global reach. By putting people in the region in touch with each other so they can work in partnership, and by showcasing them on the directory, we can help the sector grow and create even more jobs.”

The site has been designed by Llama Digital of Sheffield Technology Park and funded through the South Yorkshire Sector Growth Enhancement Programme, which is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
