Whitbread finds room for jobs

Premier Inn owner Whitbread has invested £10.8m in Bradford and created 43 new jobs after opening a new hotel and extending another in the city.

The new 118-bedroom Premier Inn Bradford Central hotel, on Vicar Lane, opened this week. In addition, the company has completed the extension of its Bradford South site on Whitehall Road with an extra 20 bedrooms.

The latest investment follows the extension of its third site in the city earlier this year. Premier Inn Bradford North, on Bradford Road, was extended by 21 rooms back in July 2011, creating eight new jobs across housekeeping and reception.

Andy Martin and Simon Docherty, general managers of Premier Inn Bradford South and Central, said: “We are delighted to bring another development to Bradford and even more rooms to the existing Bradford South site. Both hotels have so much to offer, are well situated and ideal for travellers that are looking for good value accommodation that doesn’t compromise on quality.

“Premier Inn’s dedication to bringing growth, development and employment to the city shows its commitment to the community on a personal level, as well as a business one.”
