White House advisor to speak in UK

AN entrepreneur who provides advice to the White House about business matters will visit Yorkshire later this year to speak at a major business forum.

Tim Solso, the chairman and chief executive of United States firm Cummins, is the latest business heavyweight to be named as a speaker at this year’s Women’s Business Forum, which takes place on Thursday September 29 at Rudding Park in Harrogate. Cummins designs, produces and sells diesel engines.

Mr Solso has recently been appointed to President Barack Obama’s management advisory board which helps to implement best business practices on matters related to Federal Government.

Chris Sullivan, the chief executive of RBS UK Corporate Banking; Allan Leighton, the non-executive chairman of Pace; Carla Stent, chief operating officer at Virgin Management; and Kirsty Bashforth, head of organisational effectiveness at BP; have already been announced as speakers at the event.
