Women get set for a new future

WOMEN seeking a career in the fields of science, engineering and technology (SET) can receive subsidised professional coaching to help them achieve their ambitions.

The Government-backed initiative, GetSET Women Coaching, has recruited Yorkshire-based coaching professionals to enable women working in SET in Yorkshire to access up to six hours of subsidised coaching.

The GetSET Women coaching programme was launched in Yorkshire after achieving success in the South-East.

The coaching programme aims to break down barriers that stop women gaining a foothold in male-dominated sectors.

The project is being led by UKRC, an organisation which aims to improve the participation and position of women in science, engineering and technology.

Rachel Tobbel, the UKRC's services for women manager said: "The GetSET coaching programme is for any woman working or studying in science, engineering, technology or the built environment who wants to unlock hidden potential.

"The coaching helps show them how to maximise their performance in the workplace and increase their job satisfaction."
