Work starts on recycling plant

ABOUT 35 jobs will be created when one of the most advanced food waste recycling plants in Britain opens next year.

Prosper de Mulder is today due to start work on an anaerobic digestion (AD) plant at its base in Ings Road, Doncaster.

The 12m plant, which will operate under the brand name of ReFood, will process up to 45,000 tonnes of food waste from local supermarkets, restaurants and caterers.

Prosper de Mulder believes it will play a crucial role in helping the UK to honour its commitment to reduce the amount of food waste sent to landfill. The facility is due to open in the summer of 2011.
