Yorkshire Bank stalwart joins Barclays to boost business team in south of region

NEIL Bradburne has joined Barclays’ South Yorkshire team as a relationship director.

He will be responsible for businesses with a turnover of more than £5m in the Doncaster and South Yorkshire region. Mr Bradburne, who has more than 22 years’ banking experience, joins from Yorkshire Bank where he was managing partner for the Doncaster region.

Andrew Marsh, corporate director at Barclays in South Yorkshire, said: “Recruiting talent from both within Barclays and externally is key to our expansion plans in South Yorkshire and Neil’s experience will be a huge asset for the customers and his team.

In the legal sector, Laura Foley has been taken on as an associate in Leeds-based Clarion’s private client team. Before joining the law firm, she gained experience with Gordons in Leeds where she was a trainee solicitor working in the private client team. Prior to that, she spent two years as a senior sales negotiator for a national estate agency.

Ms Foley is the latest lawyer to join Clarion, becoming one of 30 new members of staff recruited over the last 12 months. The firm now has a 100-strong team including 17 partners.

Harrogate solicitors, Barber Titleys, has strengthened its team with a new senior appointment. Civil litigation lawyer Simon Berger has joined the practice based in North Park Road as a senior solicitor.

Mr Berger has been a solicitor and partner in two Harrogate practices and has also worked for firms throughout Yorkshire.

Elsewhere, a Barnsley creative agency is kicking off its 25th year in business by expanding its team.

Ledgard Jepson has taken on three new staff members with the help of experts from business support organisation Enterprising Barnsley and now plans to recruit a fourth. New recruits Liam Atkinson and Dan Clarkson, both junior designers, along with project manager Christina Harrison, bring the Ledgard Jepson team up to 14 with plans to also shortly take on an additional art worker.

Meanwhile, Ilkley-based Approach PR has a new director in place following a key internal promotion. Verity Hudson is in her sixth year with Approach PR after making the switch from regional journalism. She has now been promoted from senior account manager to account director.

And Leeds-based One Medicare, which specialises in the delivery of patient and GP-led primary healthcare services, has appointed a new member of staff to the team. Nick Giles takes on a new role as area operations manager.

He has more than 20 years of experience in food retail and management consultancy and joined the healthcare sector in 2007 through running a large NHS general practice in York.
