Yorkshire high flyers in running for the Diamond awards

A total of 10 successful Yorkshire businesses have been shortlisted for the UK Private Business Awards.

Often referred to as the Diamonds, the awards recognise the important contribution that entrepreneurs and private businesses make to their communities and the UK economy. The finalists have been selected from over a thousand entries from private businesses across the UK.

The nominations have seen Portakabin nominated for Private Business of the Year, Harrison Spinks Beds shortlisted for Family Business of the Year, Turner A Townsend nominated or International Business of the Year and Split the Bills and Filmore & Union for Rising Star of the Year Award. The latter’s boss Adele Ashley is also nominated or Private Business Woman of the Year.

Elsewhere Acorn Stairlifts has been nominated for both International Business of the Year and Private Business of the Year. Yorkshire also has two entrants in the Chief Executive of the Year award in the shape of Jacqui Hall at CNG and Simon Biltcliffe at Websmart.
