Yorkshire simply the best at top awards

A BUILDING society which has picked up a series of awards has said its commitment to customers and community is behind its success.

Yorkshire Building Society took the top prize in four categories at the Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards, including being named best national building society.

As well as winning in the best online lender, best overall lender and customer service/treating customers fairly categories, it was highly commended for its community support work and its intermediary lending arm, Accord Mortgages, in the best buy-to-let lender category.

Andy Caton, corporate development director at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “Our fundamental aim is to help more people meet their aspirations of buying their own property and doing it in a sustainable way which supports our members and communities.

“Awards like these show we are reaching our goals in the right way and it makes us very proud to know our peers respect our achievements.”

The best building society and best lender awards were decided by independent research company Defaqto, which ranked and rated the mortgages offered by providers.
