HUDDERSFIELD TOWN head coach Carlos Corberan admits that Ravel Morrison is a player who is one of a number of free agent options that the club are currently analysing.

The former Manchester United midfielder, who has had previous unsuccessful spells in Yorkshire at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, has been linked with the Terriers, with the 28-year-old revealing that he has held discussions with an unnamed Championship club.

Morrison had his contract at Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag terminated last month.

Corberan, whose relegation-threatened side host Swansea City on Saturday and have not won in their past eight league matches, said: "We always analyse the type of players we consider, we know he's one.

"We have two possibilities with free agents who haven't been playing for a long time.

"We need to analyse which player can help us, and whether they can cover a position we need."

Rumours have also linked Town with a potential move for former Arsenal forward Yaya Sanago.

Sanago saw a move to Boro collapse in October after agreeing personal terms after leaving French side Toulouse this summer following their relegation from Ligue 1 last season.

But the deal collapsed over concerns for the former Arsenal striker's fitness after his medical.

Corberan continued: "It's the same situation with everyone, I know there are different possibilities with free agent players that we need to continue considering.

"Some of them could help the team, but I haven't had any individual come in with a player.

Corberan confirmed that attacker Issac Mbenza will not be available for tomorrow's game with a groin problem - and any extended absence will intensity the need for the club to bring in some further recruits.

He said: "Mbenza will not be available. We did a scan yesterday and found nothing serious, but there's still some pain, so we'll do another scan to see what's causing it."
