A pre-inquest review - the third of its kind - took place at Hull Coroner's Court on Monday, after the inquest into Mr Skelton's death was postponed in June last year.

Assistant Coroner Oliver Longstaff did not give an exact date for the inquest, but said it is likely to last several weeks and involve a jury.

Following applications submitted by lawyers representing Humberside Police, the coroner ruled the two police officers involved will remain anonymous throughout the inquest. Both were previously cleared of any wrongdoing following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

The officers will give evidence to the court behind a screen, however Mr Skelton's family, legal representatives, the coroner and the jury will be able to see their faces.

Their anonimity will be protected from the public.
