Farmers invited to lunch with Yorkshire Vet star Peter Wright

Members of Yorkshire’s farming community are invited to join TV vet Peter Wright at an event which aims to provide fellowship in the countryside.

Former James Herriot apprentice Mr Wright, whose veterinary life at Skeldale Veterinary Centre in Thirsk is documented by Channel 5’s hit show, The Yorkshire Vet, will be a special guest at a Farming Community Lunch at Thirsk Auction Mart next week.

Kate Dale, co-ordinator of the Yorkshire Rural Support Network which has organised the lunch in collaboration with Jackie Marwood’s Gavel Café, said there are great benefits to bringing the rural community together for events such as these.

“Good food and fellowship go a long way to combating loneliness and isolation and allow those attending to find out more about other events and support available to them and their families,” she said.

“We are delighted to announce that Peter Wright, The Yorkshire Vet, will be joining us and giving a short talk after lunch. All are welcome.”

Places can also be booked at the Gavel Café at Thirsk Auction Mart.

A raffle will be held at the event to raise funds for farming help charities.
