Yorkshire Post Country Week Conference is on October 6

There’s still time to sign up for a brand new highlight of the Yorkshire rural calendar – the inaugural Yorkshire Post Country Week Conference 2021.

Book your free spot today at the all-day event focussed exclusively on rural Yorkshire.

The event is a free all-day webinar, taking place Wednesday, October 6, two days before the well-established YP Rural Awards.

This virtual one-day event will reflect on the challenging two years which have hit every aspect of the rural economy in Yorkshire, but champion the resilience shown while looking forward to exciting things to come.

Expert panellists will be looking at agritech, farming, wildlife, rural communities and wider countryside issues, compered and led by veteran broadcaster Harry Gration.

He said: “For as long as I can remember, this great paper, the Yorkshire Post, has been the champion of rural matters in Yorkshire. That role has never been more important than today.

“The turbulent events we’ve all endured make the YP’s lead even more significant and this conference will bring together some of the most inspiring people and companies to stimulate a positive idea of what our future can be.”

James Mitchinson, Editor of The Yorkshire Post, said: “Yorkshire is undoubtedly a rural powerhouse. Our food and farming businesses contribute more than £100bn to the national economy and have shown their strength throughout the pandemic.

"But our agricultural and rural communities are also facing some tough challenges. The Country Week Conference will provide a valuable platform to talk through the issues, share best practice and help create the building blocks for a more sustainable future for farming and our rural economy."

As well as Harry Gration, other speakers include Kate Atkinson of CPRE, Adam Bedford of the NFU, Clair Douglas of Crombie Wilkinson, Matthew Hemmings of Openreach, Ash Gilman of Cranswick and Richard Taylor of Strutt & Parker.

Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the sponsors, and the YP Country Week Conference is delivered in association with CPRE, the countryside charity, Cranswick, the NFU, Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors, Strutt & Parker and Openreach.

The event is completely free to attend, but you need to register to receive your online login details. Book your spot here.
