Business awareness given a bit of Umph

TEAMS of sixth formers from Yorkshire schools have been putting their theories to the test as part of a competition which gives young people the chance to work alongside successful entrepreneurs.

The Umph! event, organised by business adviser Grant Thornton, gives teams of students the chance to competing against each other to create the most successful “virtual business” using simulation computer software.

The day is part of Grant Thornton’s “Educate to Innovate” scheme, which it has developed in Yorkshire to forge closer links between education and business.
