Businesswoman to be school governor

A YORKSHIRE school has appointed a successful busineswoman as a governor with responsibility for human resources, business development and marketing.

Lindsay Austin is bringing a wealth of business experience to her new role at Cundall Manor School, near Thirsk..

She currently works for Marks and Spencer and has held a number of senior positions 
across retail, marketing, e-commerce and HR with the company and the Per Una brand reporting to George Davies, the 
founder.

She has also headed up the 
global retail division for nursery retailer Mamas & Papas, and has been the UK and USA head of retail for Topshop and 
Topman.

Sir Thomas Ingilby, chairman of the school’s board of governors, said: “We are particularly delighted to have attracted this outstanding, successful and knowledgeable individual with such a high profile career and specialist expertise.”
