City’s pupils top of the improvements

A LEEDS school has emerged as the most improved in Yorkshire after seeing the number of pupils mastering maths and English soar by more than 50 per cent over the past four years.

Meadowfield Primary was the highest ranked school from the region in a table of 200 schools across England that have delivered year-on-year improvements in their key stage two standard assessment tests (Sats).

In 2008, just 30 per cent of pupils at the school in Halton Moor Avenue achieved level four results in their English and maths tests.
