Fundraiser for homeless

AN INDEPENDENT school near Leeds has held a fundraising event to highlight the problem of homelessness both locally and around the world.

Members of the sixth form and year ten at Gateways School, in Harewood, organised a “Streets of the World” evening to raise cash for the Leeds-based homeless charity St George’s Crypt and Amnesty International.

St George’s Crypt is one of the charities that the school is supporting throughout the academic year.

Guests were seated at tables that each represented a country where there is a problem of homelessness. There was also music, dance, a fashion show and an auction.

The private co-educational school has also recently been awarded International Schools Status from the British Council.
