Girl, four, in theme park fall critical

A FOUR-year-old girl remains in a critical condition in hospital after falling from a bridge while visiting a theme park.

Jessica Blake from the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, suffered a fractured skull, a bleed on the brain and broken ribs, when she fell around 14ft from the Tomb Blaster ride queue at Chessington World of Adventure in Surrey on Thursday.

She is being treated at St George’s Hospital, south London, and her family are at her side.

A family member described the youngster’s condition on Facebook yesterday as critical.

A spokesman for the resort said: “The resort’s fully-trained medical staff were on site immediately and administered direct care to the child until ambulance teams arrived.

“She was then taken to hospital in a conscious state.

“Until all investigations have concluded we are not in a position to comment further.

According to the HSE, the park has up to 10 days to inform the executive of a non-fatal accident.
