Husband accused of killing wife

The husband of an aspiring teacher who was found dying in a car has been charged with her murder.

Shehla Baig, 27, was found seriously injured in a Volkswagen Passat outside her home in Woodfield Road, Crawley, West Sussex, on November 16 last year.

She bled to death after an artery in one of her legs was severed. She also suffered other stab wounds to her leg, body and head, a post-mortem examination found.

Her husband, Kashif Baig, 30, appeared before Eastbourne magistrates yesterday after being charged with her murder. He will appear at Lewes Crown Court on February 7, Sussex Police said.
