Investigation after boy, 12, found dead

POLICE are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was found dead at his home in North Yorkshire.

The youngster was pronounced dead by paramedics at his home in Harrogate on Wednesday.

Police said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious and no-one else is being sought. Police officers are working with the family to provide support at this very difficult time. A file will be prepared on behalf of the coroner.”

The boy was a pupil at Harrogate High School.

Governors’ chairman Ian Curtis said: “The police have asked us not to say anything until they have finished their inquiry. All I can do is offer the greatest sympathy, from governors and staff, to the family and friends of this poor young man.”

Flowers were laid outside the boy’s home in the Bilton area.
