This is your last chance to apply for Sky’s first Technology Returners Programme, based in its Leeds Dock tech hub, before the closing date of Monday, 23 March.

The exciting programme is designed to support anyone who has previously worked in technology but who’s taken a career break for any reason and wants to get back into the industry.

As Europe’s biggest entertainment brand, a career with Sky means you will be given the freedom and support needed to really make a difference.

Sky love to push boundaries, create solutions and hit targets: as a valued part of the close-knit team, you’ll enjoy plenty of benefits as well as experiences you’ll only find at Sky.

The pioneering programme will be paid from the start and the team will ensure you have all the training and mentoring needed to equip you with the most up-to-date skills as well as the confidence to get back to work as a software tester.

The perks include Sky Q, a generous pension and private health care, plus access to more than 12,000 LinkedIn Learning courses to support your development.

The Leeds Dock campus offers a pool table, table tennis, discounted gym membership, local discounts, and much more – plus they are happy to discuss flexible working.

To kick off the programme, you will attend a four-week paid boot camp on campus to refresh your skills and give you the technical knowhow you need to be an automated tester at Sky, alongside other technical returners.

After the training period, you will move into a delivery team at Sky Leeds Dock as an automation tester to work on projects to deliver unified solutions.

Successful candidates will be involved as necessary with the planning, design, development, enhancement and implementation of solutions and you’ll collaborate with developers to maintain and improve Sky’s test suites. You’ll be able to stay up-to-date on the status of tests, offering solutions as needed, and help deliver continuous, quality code that matches business requirements. As part of an agile team, you will contribute to agile practices and define and create new automation test scripts.

And you’re guaranteed ongoing support to make sure you feel integrated back into the workplace after your career break.

To apply, you’ll have:

Previous experience in a software engineering role or tech environment

Experience testing web-based applications

Excellent problem-solving abilities; be able to learn and apply new technical knowledge quickly

Excellent communication, analytical and team-working skills

Understanding of sound software life-cycle methodologies and/or agile delivery

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and progressive environment

Passion for software excellence, delivering code of the highest quality, and a willingness to learn new languages and practices.

Anyone who's interested should apply by Monday, 23 March, at https://careers.sky.com/job/10232646/sky-returners-programme-leeds-leeds-gb/.
