Two of the new schools are planned in Leeds, a new Jewish High School in Alwoodley and the Khalsa Science Academy, a primary school with a science specialism and a Sikh ethos.

Free schools are a flagship measure of the coalition Government. They are schools set up from scratch by groups including parents, teachers and charities.
