Raccoon escapes from zoo cage

Keepers have been searching for a missing raccoon that escaped from a zoo in the West Country

Female raccoon Missy dug a large hole in her cage to leave Tropiquaria in Washford, Somerset, after recent flooding softened the ground.

A spokesman warned that the 18-month-old creature could bite if handled.

“The sad thing is that we have had raccoons in that enclosure for two years with no trouble whatsoever,” he added.
