Schools have test results wiped out

In some cases, schools saw both their reading and maths scores annulled because of problems with the way the test was administered.

An analysis of the figures shows that 25 primaries nationally saw none of their pupils score at least a level four in reading, writing and maths combined because of these problems.

These included Greenway Academy in Hull which had its reading test score recorded as 0 per cent.

This meant that its overall level of pupils getting to the expected standard in reading, writing and maths was also recorded as zero in the official primary school league tables published yesterday in information from the Department for Education (DfE).

The DfE said all 25 primaries had their results annulled due to “maladministration”. It was unclear what the nature of the maladministration at the Greenway Academy was. The Yorkshire Post was unable to contact the school yesterday.
