Yorkshire triplets prove a class act

The 16-year-old brothers are all pupils at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School in Leeds.

Fionn passed nine subjects at grade A and four at A star, while Conor achieved seven grade As, three A stars and two Bs, and Joe gained nine grade As, one A star and two Bs. Conor and Joe also received Distinctions in ICT.

Conor said: “We’re all really ecstatic – we’ve actually done a lot better than we thought we were going to. We’re most pleased with our sciences because the school has really helped us get through them and we’ve all got As and A stars in those.”

All three boys from Headingley will now go on to study for A-Levels at Notre Dame Sixth Form College in Leeds next term. Conor added: “Fionn wants to be a doctor, so he’s going to be concentrating on his sciences, but Joe and I aren’t sure what career path we want to take yet so we’re going a bit broader. It’s probably a good thing that we’re all doing the same exams at the same time, because it gives us that bit of competition. But then it can be annoying when one of us is trying to revise and the other is playing a guitar.”

The O’Donells were among a raft of siblings celebrating success around the region yesterday.

At Harrogate Grammar School triplets Jack, Tom and Sam Mitchell celebrated a total of 27 A* s and 3 As.

At the Grammar School at Leeds there were two sets of twins receiving their results with 27 A*s achieved between them. Sam Allison achieved eight A*s, an A and a B, while twin Jack attained seven A*s, two As and a C. Meanwhile, Amy and Jessica Smith were also celebrating their results at the independent school. Amy notched up nine A*s and an A and Jessica, three A*s, five As, a B and a C.

At Rossett School in Harrogate twins Luke and Anya Gair, earned 23 GCSEs between them as pupils achieved record results overall.

Siblings Calum and Libby Brown are a celebrating after achieving straight A* grades in this summer’s A-Level and GCSE results.

The brother and sister, both of who attend St Peter’s School in York, achieved a clean sweep with top grades in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics at A-Level for Calum, and GCSEs in music, art, Latin, French, English literature and language, maths, double science and religious studies for Libby. They also share a passion for music, and each holds a Grade 8 with Distinction.

Both play the clarinet, with Libby also playing saxophone and flute. They each secured a high A* pass at GCSE for music.
