The Millers are on a run of three successive defeats, and were beaten 1-0 by league leaders Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

Paul Warne’s men are currently 22nd in the table, two points adrift of safety with two games in hand on Birmingham City above them.

By contrast, Chris Hughton has turned Forest into one of the divisions most resilient sides. They may still be 17th in the table and just seven points outside of the relegation zone, but the East Midlands club have also lost just twice in their last 13 league outings.

Forest took all three points with a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, and Prutton is predicting similar success on Tuesday.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: “A quick glance at Rotherham's form shows a host of recent defeats, but that alone tells just a fraction of the story.

"Paul Warne's men have faced three promotion contenders in Norwich, Bournemouth and Cardiff in their last three and the fact they've not been beaten by more than a one-goal margin says a lot.

"The Millers just need a stroke of luck, it seems.

“Despite being one of the form sides in the division since mid-December - with just two defeats in 13 since - Forest are still sat down in 17th ahead of their trip to Yorkshire.

"If nothing else, that just further emphasises the unpredictability of this division. I'm backing an away win in this one.”

Prutton predicts a 2-1 win for Forest.
