These extraordinary "lockdown" measures are to try and contain the spread of Covid-19 and take pressure off of the NHS.

However, staff in the North Yorkshire control room received multiple reports of youths playing outside together.

A spokesman said: "We are still getting reports of youths out playing.

"Folks, this is so important. If you’re a parent & your children are not at home - find out where they are and get them home.

"They should not be socialising.

"The schools are shut in order to protect them.

"Do your part please."

This follows an incident in North Yorkshire on Friday where groups of 30 or 40 children behaved in an anti-social manner.

At the times officers said: "We know these are difficult times but we must protect the elderly and vulnerable in our community.

"If the government's advice is not followed, these measures will last longer.

"The ASB caused last night will not be tolerated and NPT will arrest your kids if offences are committed."
