Highest daily increase in Leeds coronavirus deaths since lockdown began as total passes 200

The highest daily increase in deaths at Leeds hospitals has been recorded since lockdown began.

On Tuesday, 17 new deaths in Leeds hospitals were announced within new figures.

The increase is the largest since figures were recorded at the beginning of lockdown.

A total of 202 deaths from coronavirus have now been recorded in the city - the highest number in Yorkshire.

Across the region, 64 new deaths were announced in Tuesday's update.
