Location of every new coronavirus death in Yorkshire hospitals as total rises by just 11

There have been just 11 new coronavirus deaths recorded in Yorkshire's hospitals, according to the latest NHS England figures.

The data, released on Sunday, May 17, reflects deaths from the latest reporting period which is 5pm on Saturday, May 16.

The rise of 11 deaths brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Yorkshire's hospitals to 2,266.

It is one of the lowest daily death totals in Yorkshire hospitals since NHS England records began.

Seven patients died on Saturday, May 16, three patients died on Friday, May 15 and one patient died on Thursday, May 14.

NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death in hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

This is because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, for post-mortem examinations to be processed, and for data from the tests to be validated.

The new deaths confirmed across each hospital trust in Yorkshire are as follows:

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust - 0

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust - 0
