New coronavirus death at Leeds hospitals recorded in latest figures

A new coronavirus death has been recorded in Leeds.

The patient was being cared for by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

A total of 345 people have now died from coronavirus in Leeds - the highest figure in the region.

A further dead was recorded by Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust

The death toll in Yorkshire from the virus now stands at 2,967.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28, NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
