Three new coronavirus deaths recorded in Yorkshire

A total of three more people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in hospitals in Yorkshire.

The three patients were in the care of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust respectively.

The death toll in Yorkshire from the virus now stands at 2,965.

A total of 344 people have died from coronavirus in Leeds - the highest figure in the region.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28, NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
