Tailored help for parents-to-be at hospital

A Yorkshire hospital has launched a new education service for parents-to-be.

Tailored sessions have been introduced for women and their birth partners who plan to have their babies at Airedale hospital in Steeton.

The sessions include hypnobirthing and focus on feeding.

Clare Luby, lead midwife for parent education at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said “We’re really excited to be offering this service to women and their birth partners.

“There is good evidence to show improved outcomes and better birth experiences for those women who have accessed parent education during their pregnancy. As well as running these sessions, we are busy designing sessions specifically aimed at grandparents and birth partners too. We are hoping to launch these shortly.”
