The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain on Monday across Yorkshire, which is set to remain in place until noon on Tuesday.

The forecasters have also issued a separate snow warning for Tuesday, with heavy snow predicted to arrive from around 4am on Tuesday and last for several hours in Leeds and in North Yorkshire.

The Met Office has forecast dry and sunny weather on Monday across Yorkshire with some snow falling across some areas tonight.

Heavy rain fall is expected tomorrow with some colder and windy conditions across the region

Difficulty travelling can be expected with possible bus and train delays. The Met Office asks people to be aware of slippery conditions and to be careful when travelling.

Rain and sleet expected to continue in the north still on Wednesday but we can expect slightly more dry conditions by mid week in regions across in the south.

Tuesday:

Cold and windy, with further sleet and snow first thing, before snow becomes confined to the hills. Turning showery and less cold from the south during the afternoon. Winds easing. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Rain and hill snow persisting in the north on Wednesday and Thursday, but generally brighter and showery to the south. Less cold. Perhaps drier and brighter on Friday.
