'Hey, my spaghetti's moving!': Housebuilder helps schoolchildren celebrate Roald Dahl Day

Housebuilder, David Wilson Homes, welcomed 30 children from Deighton Gates Primary School to its nearby Templars Chase development in Wetherby this September, for an afternoon of storytelling to celebrate Roald Dahl Day.

David Wilson Homes worked with Eden Ballantyne, a professional storyteller from Stories Alive, to gather children in its Templars Chase showhome for a performance of The Twits, encouraging them to get involved and interact, to celebrate Roald Dahl Day.

Dan Hardcastle, Sales Manager at Templars Chase, said: "It was brilliant to have the children from Deighton Gates Primary School join us for an afternoon of storytelling to celebrate Roald Dahl Day. It is important to us that we invest in the areas we build in, so we are always keen to get involved with local schools as an extension of the communities we help create.”

Sophie Thompson, Year 4 teacher at Deighton Gates Primary School, commented: “We are always keen on allowing the children to spend time outside of school so we were very pleased when we were invited down to Templars Chase. Eden’s performance of The Twits was fantastic fun and it was great to see the class get so involved!”

Roald Dahl would have turned 101 years old on 13th September this year.
