James Norwood bagged the winner as the Tractor Boyts stunned the promotion-chasers Tigers in their own backyard.

Norwood’s 15th minute strike proved the difference and helped Paul Lambert’s side taste their first away league win since 6th January.

Ipswich dominated possession in the opening stages, and they were awarded for their hard work after 15 minutes.

Myles Kenlock sent a hopeful ball over the head of Jacob Greaves, finding Norwood in the area with time and space to fire the ball past Matt Ingram.

The away side had not won any of their previous 14 fixtures against Hull, but could have doubled their lead midway through the first half. Troy Parrott was through on goal but hesitated, allowing Greaves to get back and make the block.

Keane Lewis-Potter had the best chance of the half for the home side but he missed the target from six yards out, rolling his effort the wrong side of the post.

Lewis-Potter looked to have won a penalty with 10 minutes to go, but the referee remained unmoved to condemn Hull to their third successive home game without scoring.
